Admin Preview: Salesforce Winter '25

The upcoming Salesforce Winter '25 release introduces major enhancements across its products. We’ll highlight some of the most exciting updates in the Admin Preview, with a particular emphasis on Agentforce. Many of our clients currently utilize these products and are eager about the new improvements, which are set to enhance efficiency, personalization, and automation in their business processes.

1. Enhancements for Admins

Modernized User List Views:

List Customization:  Salesforce now enhances the Admin Experience by bringing customizable list views. This feature allows to tailor the user list view by selecting the specific fields you want to display. Additionally, you can pin the most frequently used views for quick and easy access.

Inline Editing: Admins will now be able to edit fields directly from the list.

   This must be turned on in the User Management settings in the winter release. In the         feature, it will be turned on by default.

 

 

Enhancements to User Access Summary:

The User Access Summary is transforming into the new User Record page. With the Winter release, you'll now be able to edit key standard and custom fields directly from the summary. Additionally, a new row-level action called "Access Granted by" has been introduced, allowing you to easily see where a user's access is coming from, all within the summary view.

Introducing the Object Access Summary:

Salesforce is introducing a new Object Access Summary feature, allowing admins to easily view how access is granted directly within the Object Manager.

 

With a single click, admins can now view all permission sets, permission set groups, and profiles that grant access to the contact object, along with the specific level of access provided.

2. Dynamic Highlights Panel

Tailored Experience: The new feature in the Winter '25 release enables Admins to manage fields for the highlights panel directly within the Lightning App Builder, just as they do for other elements on the page.

Increased Limit: In Winter '25, Salesforce expanded the number of available fields in the highlights panel from 7 to a maximum of 12.

 

3. Lightning Reports and Dashboards

Enhance your Lightning Reports with Calculated Fields using Einstein Generative AI:

Einstein Report Formula Generation leverages Einstein Generative AI to automatically create Summary and Row-Level Formulas for your reports. Just provide a simple, everyday description of what you need, and Einstein will suggest the appropriate formula.

 

To edit a report, choose Create Formula from the Fields panel, or select either Add Summary Formula or Add Row-Level Formula from the Columns menu.

  At the moment this feature is only available for Lightning Experience in the Enterprise, Performance, Unlimited, and Developer editions, with either the Einstein 1 Sales Edition or Einstein 1 Service Edition, and requires the DC Report GPT add-on.

 

4. Do More with Custom Report Types (Beta)

Easily explore your report types and create custom list views with the enhanced Custom Report page in Setup. You can now modify report details and adjust object relationships directly from the streamlined summary page, designed for improved usability. The new layout editor for report types provides greater flexibility in managing custom fields and sections. Additionally, you can include up to 1,000 fields in the report-type layout using lookup fields.

(1) Locate and drag fields into your desired section. (2) Search for fields, explore their details, and personalize the field names. (3) Select "Lookup Fields" to discover additional fields to include in the report type.
