Summer '24 Release highlights for Admins

Written by UX Editor | Aug 5, 2024

Salesforce has once again set a new standard with its Summer '24 release, featuring a range of features aimed at boosting efficiency, simplifying workflows, and providing a more user-friendly experience. Let's explore some of the key highlights in this latest update.

1. Einstein for Flow

Einstein for Flow enables admins to easily create flows from natural language prompts. All you have to do is describe what you want Einstein to build and watch the flow appear magically.

UX enchantments: Admins who struggle to learn flow due to its complexity can now do so easily with Einstein for Flow. You won't have to dive into the details, as Einstein handles all the complexity for you. Now, you can focus on the general structure and logic of the flow without getting into all those details.

Never start from scratch: For experienced admins, Einstein for Flow provides a valuable starting point, saving you time so you don't have to begin from scratch.

The new flow creation model is simpler looking and includes the Einstein helper feature.

Add your prompt instructions for Einstein to create a workflow and then use the data to generate a new record.

Einstein has generated a flow for you.

2. Enhanced Lightning UI

In the Summer '24, Salesforce released an updated Lightning UI style designed to simplify the user experience, incorporating customer feedback and research. With customer satisfaction and trust as Salesforce's primary goals, the platform's visual style will continue to evolve alongside changing consumer technology expectations.

The app has improved organization and harmony, which makes transitions seamless between tasks.

How does it assist in speeding up your work?

Let's start by examining the benefits of the improved UI design in boosting productivity and cutting down task completion time. We will then analyze the specific design elements responsible for this productivity enhancement.

Improved Organization and Harmony: Streamlined navigation, simplified icons, and adaptable spacing make it easier to move seamlessly through the app, reducing cognitive load.

Clear Indicators of Success and Prioritization: Intentional use of colors, contrast, and icons highlights data and stages, with distinct button states reducing errors.

Improved Performance and Load Times: Optimized CSS and fewer distracting images enhance compatibility and efficiency across devices.

Improved Approachability and Accessibility: Adherence to WCAG ensures accessibility for users of all abilities and neurodiversity needs.

The Value of Delight: Fun touches and a sense of accomplishment enhance overall user enjoyment.

From an end-user perspective, the refreshed Lightning UI is designed to be approachable and intuitive, enabling users to complete their daily tasks more quickly with simpler navigation and less time spent locating key information. The intentional use of a brighter color scheme, clear indicators, and distinct button states helps reduce potential user errors, while the removal of distracting elements enhances focus and overall clarity.

3. Dynamic Forms

Repeaters:  In the Salesforce Summer '24 Release, Repeaters were introduced. This feature enables users to generate dynamic lists of information chunks. Previously, users had to create a screen, gather all user inputs, and select a checkbox at the bottom to include another person, beneficiary, or user. This process required looping through. Now, users can have a dynamic all-in-one screen by simply using these information chunks.

Using Repeaters, you can conveniently create multiple records on one screen. For instance, you can employ a Repeater component to gather details about beneficiaries for an insurance policy.

Dynamic Data with Action Buttons: Salesforce has released a beta version of a new feature in screen flows called Action Buttons. This allows users to add a button that triggers an automated flow. For instance, in a screen flow, you can use this feature to perform data operations, and external callouts, and dynamically update the screen to create a cohesive and interactive experience instead of using multiple separate screens.

With Action Buttons, it becomes easier to keep users on the same screen when you select an account and need to show related records for that account. Whether it be cases, contacts, or opportunities.

Conclusion

With a host of new features and enhancements, this update promises to deliver greater efficiency, more insightful data analysis, and a better overall user experience. Whether you are a developer, an admin, or a sales representative, there’s something in this release for everyone. Stay ahead of the curve by exploring these new features and integrating them into your Salesforce environment today.
